Welcome to my site!

Hi, I’m Abin Kuzhuvelikalam Binoy, a 19 year old first year Software Engineering student at the University of Victoria. Welcome to my little corner of the internet šŸ‘‹

Where I’m from

I grew up in Sharjah, UAE, with family roots in Kerala, India. Moving to Victoria for university was a big jump new country, new climate, new everything but it’s also been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve made so far.

What I’m into

I’ve been passionate about technology and programming for as long as I can remember. I get genuinely excited when a new product drops or a company announces something cool which is partly why I love my part-time job at Best Buy, where I get to help people pick the right tech for them. It’s way more fun than it sounds.

Outside of school and work, I run, play football, and stay involved with my church community.

My goals

My main goal during my degree is to build real projects, sharpen my programming skills, and land a co-op that I’m actually proud of. I want to come out of UVic knowing I built things, not just passed exams.

Why I’m here (in EDCI 335)

I picked EDCI 335 partly as an elective, but also because I wanted a course that would push me to write, reflect, and share publicly. This blog is going to be my space to track what I’m learning, what’s clicking, and what isn’t and hopefully keep me accountable along the way. If something I post here helps even one other student feel less alone in their learning journey, that’s a win for me.

Thanks for stopping by. Excited to learn with all of you this term šŸ™‚
